It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Berta after a long battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Gerry for 60 years. Cherished mother of Kim McDonald (Kevin) and Wendy Taylor. The most loving and devoted Grandma to Taylor Finton (Joe), Chloe Eustace (Aaron) and Hayden McDonald (Meghan Kehoe). Becoming a great-grandma to Oliver (Ollie) Finton brought her immeasurable joy.

She is survived by 6 sisters, Deloros Hull (Ron Hull, Mike Carrol deceased), Gail Donoff (Roy deceased), Vonnie Lee (Dennis deceased), Lucille Shedden (Wayne Martin), Iris Robertson (Jim) (Steve Aitken deceased), Valerie Colling (Ron) (Sam Slade deceased). Sister-in-law to Donna Evans-Henning (John Henning) (Ross Evans deceased), Rev. Ernie Taylor (Carol), Shirleyann Bastable (Harold Cooper, Paul deceased), Gail Henderson (Mike).

Berta found happiness in life’s simple pleasures: a hot cup of tea, laughter around the table and getting on the floor to play with her grandchildren. She had a quiet gift of making everyone feel loved and welcomed. Her kindness, warmth and unwavering love for her family will be remembered always.

Visitation will be held at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, Ontario on Sunday, August 2nd from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Joseph’s Health Care Hamilton Foundation (Palliative Care Team) would be appreciated.
