It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Janina Modelska who passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, in her 78th year surrounded by the love of her family.

Janina was the devoted wife of Wladyslaw Modelski, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and dedication. She was a loving and caring mother to her children: Jacek Modelski, Pawel Modelski (Grazyna), and Ewa Modelska. Nothing brought Janina greater joy than her family. She took great pride in her role as Babcia to Claudia, Dominik, Jacob, Simon, and Philip, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

She will be also remembered by her sister, Krystyna, her late husband, Stanislaw, and her brother, Marian, and his wife, Stanislawa, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives she touched through her kindness, warmth, and generosity.

Janina will be remembered for her loving heart, quiet strength, unwavering devotion to her family, and the compassion she showed to everyone she met. Her legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to live on in those who knew and loved her.

Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday, July 5th, from 5-8 p.m. with Catholic Rosary at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 8 Saint Ann Street, Hamilton, on Monday, July 6, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery, 681 Mud Street E. Hamilton.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in Janina’s memory.
