(O’Hara)

It’s with profound sadness and deep love that our family announces the passing of Dorothy Beatrice Sohm (O’Hara), age 70, of Hamilton, Ontario.  She passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, surrounded by her family.  Born on August 7, 1955, in Hamilton Ontario, she was the cherished daughter of Walter and Mae O’Hara, sister of David, Diane and Linda.  She leaves to cherish her memory her 5 children: Shelly (Steve), Michael (Marie), Wayne (Flora), Lesley, and Sheila (Alex); her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.

Dorothy was predeceased by her loving husband, Don Sohm, her parents Walter and Mae O’Hara and sister Diane Lucas.

Dorothy was an active member of the Stoney Creek Quilting Guild where they created amazing quilts for charities.  She cherished her time with all her quilting friends, and it was where she and her friends spent many hours together.  

A Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, Ontario from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Friends and family are invited to attend and share their favourite memories of Dorothy.

There will be a celebration of life for Dorothy on August 9, 2026 in a place yet to be determined.
