Peter Todd, 65, of Beamsville, Ontario, passed away suddenly in his garden on a sunny May 31, dogs by his side. Adored husband of Billi-Jo for 43 years, Peter leaves behind his loving children, Jes (Johnny), Chris (Suzi), and Josh (Jessica); and his grandchildren, Hannah, Charlie, Nash, and Maxx.

The youngest child of the late William and Theresa Todd, Peter grew up in Hamilton with siblings, Sheila (Fred), Michael (Karen) and Dennis (Kelly). He had a long career as an electrician, having recently retired from ArcelorMittal Dofasco, where he formed many lasting friendships.

Though Peter could appear to be one most comfortable in the background, he missed very little. His wry wit often found its way into conversations around him as he casually passed by. His children and grandchildren will remember the many skills he taught them, and the well-chosen words he shared when he felt them most needed.

Reserved but never shy, his natural curiosity led him to chat with just about anyone he met. And so, this seemingly quiet man was known and befriended by many.

A skilled handyman, Peter was rarely still. He took great satisfaction in his ever-growing to-do list, especially if his dogs were nearby or his grandchildren were eager to help. As his wife would say with affectionate humour, their home was an homage to half-finished projects as Peter would gladly set off at a moment’s notice to help others with whatever needed doing at their place.

Friends will be welcomed to share their happy memories at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home in Stoney Creek for a Visitation on Thursday, June 4, from 5 to 7 p.m., and for a Service on Friday, June 5, at 11 a.m. A private interment will follow at a later date.

To honour Peter’s love of stray animals, a donation to the SPCA would be a generous tribute.
