Jane Lockwood, age 87, passed away peacefully on Friday May 1st at Joseph Brant Hospital after a short illness.

Jane was the beloved wife of Ron Lockwood and was a proud and loving mother to her daughters Cynthia Lockwood (Craig Mutch) and Sherri Lockwood (Jeff Chemeres), who were the centre of her world. She was the cherished daughter of Robert and Jean McManus and sister to her siblings Robert, Rick and Marilyn and sister-in-law to Leroy Lockwood and Janet Lockwood who all predeceased her. Jane adored her grandson Carter Mutch who brought her immense joy and pride. Her love for her family was boundless, and she delighted in every moment they spent together, especially the years at their Florida home or on one of their many family cruises. 

Jane was a beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews and a devoted special friend to many and will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the quiet grace with which she lived. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished so deeply.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Joseph Brant Hospital Palliative Care team for their incredible compassion, dignity, and support during Jane’s final days. Their care brought comfort not only to Jane, but to the entire family.

A celebration of Jane’s life will be held on Saturday, May 30th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Lord Nelson Restaurant, 650 Plains Road E, Burlington.  In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the Joseph Brant Palliative Care Fund.
