Dale Hume has left this world. The music’s over, his rocking chair at rest, quivering hands calmed. 


He passed peacefully in his Toronto home in his 74th year. He journeys ahead of one son, Kiel (and Carly), and grandsons Beckett and Elliot. He came from a large and sprawling family, with nine brothers and sisters. 


A gentle spirit, he asked for little of this world, and gave all he could to those he cared for. He loved cold beer and the freedom to roam and wander the streets of Toronto. But more than anything, Dale loved music. He was an encyclopedia of 60’s Country & Western, a connoisseur of forgotten songs and artists. His greatest joy was spending Saturday mornings with his son browsing record stores, flipping through LPs to find some long-lost gem. For Dale music was life and life was music, a search for beauty and meaning he shared with anyone who would listen.   


He left us loved.
