Petar (Pero) Rajšić Obituary

With heavy hearts and deep love, we share the passing of our dear Petar (Pero) Rajšić, in his 75th year, at Juravinski Hospital, surrounded by those who loved him most.

A devoted and loving father to Branka (Siniša) and Ranka (Davor), and a cherished lifelong companion and best friend to Dara, Pero was truly the heart of his family. He was a beloved brother to Milan (Ljuba), Seka (late Aleksandar), and Danica (late Milan), holding each of them close throughout his life.

He will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews, who lovingly knew him as Ćoro: Miroslav (Mirjana), Dejan (Biljana), Miki (Natalija), and Nataša (Momir), as well as by his extended family, kumovi, and many dear friends both in Canada & Serbia whose lives he touched.

Pero’s greatest joy was his family, especially his treasured grandchildren: Novak, Kristian, Mila, Sasha, Stefan, Teodor, Milica (Rade), Aleksej, Kosta, Maja, Luka, Stefan, Emilija, Marko, Lana, Nikolija, Filip, and Milan, along with so many others who filled his life with pride, laughter, and endless happiness.

He is reunited in eternal peace with his beloved parents, Mara and Rade Rajšić.

Born in Staro Selo, Kordun, in former Yugoslavia, Pero came to Canada on May 1, 1971, in search of a better life. Through strength, resilience, and unwavering determination, he built a life rich in love, connection, and lasting friendships.

Pero will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, his unforgettable sense of humor, and the warmth he brought into every room. Even in his final days, he continued to share laughter and light with those around him. Above all, he was a true family man.  His greatest happiness was simply being surrounded by the people he loved.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the oncology team at Juravinski Hospital for their kindness, compassion, and care during this difficult time.

Family will be receiving friends at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Ave. Dr., Stoney Creek, on Monday, April 13 from 5-8 p.m. Pomen at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 149 Nash Rd. S, Hamilton, on Tuesday, April 14 at 12 p.m. with the Very Reverend Father Djuro Samac officiating. Interment to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery, 2280 Barton St E, Hamilton.

Though he is no longer with us, his memory and love live on in every story we tell, every smile we share, and every moment we hold close to our hearts.

With heavy hearts and deep love, we share the passing of our dear Petar (Pero) Rajšić, in his 75th year, at Juravinski Hospital, surrounded by those who loved him most.
