Carole MacVicar Obituary

Carole is now reunited with her late parents Robert and Mary Evans and sister Patricia. Remembered by her loving husband of 40 years, Don; brother, Douglas (Hayla); and sister, Karen (Rick deceased). She is the much-loved aunt of Beth (Simon) and David (Sydney).


Carole's happiest times were spent volunteering with children, youth and young moms on a daily basis as a co-founder and Exec director of the Inner City Outreach Ministry (ICOM) for the past 35 years. Through the work of ICOM, 3,500 children have had the opportunity to attend summer camp and winter retreats. Carole was awarded the Canada YMCA Peace medal in 2004, The Women of the Year for 2005 and the Hamilton Citizen of the Year for 2023.


Visitation Saturday, March 21st from 1 to 5 p.m. at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive,  Stoney Creek, ON. Funeral Service will be held at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home on Sunday, March 22nd, at 2 p.m. with reception immediately following at Cheyne Presbyterian Church, 7 King St W., Stoney Creek. Interment at Mountview Gardens, Stoney Creek on Monday, March 23rd at 10 a.m. All are welcome. Donations to ICOM online or to a charity of your choice.
