Passed peacefully with family by his side on March 12, 2026 at the Stedman Community Hospice in Brantford at the age of 95. Beloved Husband of Betty for 73 years. Loving Father of Cliff (Jean), Deborah (Paul), and Mark (Laura). Proud Grandfather of Kara (Ryan), Stacey (Milic), Grant (Joel), Sarah (Chris), Meghan (Chris), Caitlyn (Brant), and Abby (Mark). Great-Grandfather of 10 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents Findley & Isabel, and siblings Connie, Marion & Findley. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. 

Doug loved to spend time with family which has resulted in many happy memories for all. Doug gave much of his time to volunteering with a number of organizations in his community. He enjoyed woodworking and could often be found working on a new project. Some of his favorite moments were spent fishing with his sons. Doug worked for Quigley Construction for 39 years, and was a 60 year member of the Wentworth Lodge No. 166 in Stoney Creek. 

The family would like to thank the VON staff who helped care for Doug at home, and the staff of the Stedman Community Hospice for their compassionate care.

A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held Monday, March 23 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Anglican Church Glanford, 2869 Upper James St., Mt. Hope.  A Masonic Service will be held in the church at 10:30 a.m. prior to the Memorial Service. Anyone is welcome to attend.
