Obituary of Audrey Elizabeth Rylott

Peacefully at the Village of Wentworth Heights Retirement Residence in Hamilton, Ontario on Thursday, January 8, 2026 in her 94th year. Born in Hamilton on May 2, 1932 to the late Horace and Doris Whitfield. Audrey was the beloved wife and soulmate of the late Ken Rylott (pre-deceased 2024) for 67 years. She will be fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Isabell Rylott and her many nieces and nephews as well as grandnieces and grandnephews.

Audrey worked for CIBC Bank for several years and was a longtime member of First Pilgrim United Church. She was known for her sense of humour and creative skills, having been passionate about sewing, knitting and quilting. She enjoyed her card games, wordsearch puzzles and chocolate treats. Audrey was an animal lover who always stopped to enjoy a visit with any cat, dog or bunny who crossed her path. and, she was an avid Hamilton Tiger Cats fan.

During their lifetime together, Audrey and Ken were constant companions and enjoyed many cruises and travels abroad, often in the company of good friends. They especially treasured their many years of “Snowbird” winters in Florida. Audrey cherished the kinship of the extended Rylott family and her lifelong friends.

The family extends its gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Wentworth Heights for the kind support and care provided to Audrey during her residency over the past three years. Cremation has taken place as well as a private family interment at Woodland Cemetery, Hamilton. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
