Obituary of Richard "Rick" Pearce

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Rick (“Tee-Shirt”) Pearce on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a lengthy illness. Rick was born in Hamilton to the late Albert and Ruth Pearce on July 3o, 1951. Rick leaves behind his devoted partner, Tony Mac (Catherine), with whom he shared many years of love, companionship, and travel. He is also survived by his older brother, Jack, and extended family who reside in British Columbia.

Rick was a machinist by trade and later spent more than twenty years as a dedicated truck driver with Laidlaw Carriers, a career he took great pride in. A passionate sports fan, Rick was a steadfast supporter of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Raptors. He was also an avid golfer and cherished his time on the greens with The Early Risers at King’s Forest. Rick was a kind and gentle man who will be remembered for his warm heart, quiet strength, and genuine care for others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 22, from 10:00 a.m. at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 700 Chapel Hill Road.
