Obituary of Debra (Debi) Ann Garon
Debi passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 42 years, Mike Garon; her son, Rob Garon; and her parents, Allison and Frances Turner.
Debi was a devoted and loving mother to Keli (Bill) and Michelle (Marc), and a cherished Grandma to Rowan and Bryer. She will be deeply missed by her sister Alison, step-siblings and siblings-in-law, as well as her many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Debi owned and operated the gas bar at The Garage alongside her husband, Mike, but she was best known for her remarkable talent and passion for handicrafts. Whether spinning wool, quilting, sewing, or knitting, she always had several projects on the go. For many years, Debi sold her beautiful creations at craft shows with her mother and sister, where she was fondly remembered as “the lady spinning wool.”
She was always generous with her time and skills, helping others with sewing projects of all kinds, from clothing and costumes to carefully stitching her grandchildren’s Scout and Guide badges. Her creativity, kindness, and willingness to help will be remembered by all who knew her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the ICU and cardiac staff and doctors at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener for their dedication, compassion, support, and exceptional care.
In keeping with Debi’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service.
