Obituary of Julijana Verdnik

Julijana Verdnik, 87, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 29, 1938, in Slovenia, Julijana dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband of 38 years, Frank, and their three children.

Julijana's greatest joy came from spending time with her family and fostering a loving environment. Her homemade brown bread was legendary in the neighbourhood.  Julijana's love for nurturing things was evident in her beautiful garden, which she lovingly tended for over five decades. She is survived by her children Frank, Raymond, and Andrew and three sisters in Slovenia Tilcka, Katica and Danica.

A visitation will be held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday, January 8, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers at 4:00 p.m.   A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory The Great Church, 125 Centennial Pky N, Hamilton, on Friday, January 9, at 10:00am. Burial to follow at Mountview Gardens Cemetery, 735 Hwy 8, Stoney Creek.
