Mary Ridley Bliss Obituary
Passed away at Regina Gardens Long Term Care in Hamilton on December 17, 2025 in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Douglas H. Bliss. Dear mother of the late John Nixon (Barbara) of Hamilton, Mark Nixon (Brenda) of Lethbridge, and Barbara Nixon (Mark McQuat) of Redbridge. Dear grandmother of Jennifer, Kristina (Matthew Smart), Paul (Fanamphet), Katie, Angelica (Kody), and Matthew. Great-grandmother of Fiona (Edwards), Liam, Connor, Griffin (Smart), Nora, John (Nixon) Zander, and Scarlett (Dickie).
Mrs. Bliss was an employee of St. Peter’s Hospital as an R.N.A. She was a longtime member of Christ’s Church Cathedral in Hamilton, and the Church of Our Saviour the Redeemer in Stoney Creek. She was a recipient of the Order of Niagara, and was also very involved in Guides Canada.
The family would like to thank the staff at Regina Gardens for their kind and compassionate care. Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at the Church of Our Saviour the Redeemer in Stoney Creek at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes Canada would be appreciated.
