Obituary of Dorothy Elizabeth Darling

(nee Nokes/Sprague)

Dorothy passed away on December 7, 2025, in her 83rd year.  Daughter of the late James and Jessie Nokes. Leaving behind son Tom and cherished granddaughter Samantha.  Beloved sister to Alma (Tony), Walter (Sharon), James (Valerie).  Will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews and many friends.   Dorothy had a huge circle of special friends who she shared many happy times with. Dorothy was a longtime employee of Eaton’s and then The Body Shop where she formed long lasting personal relationships.

Friends will be welcomed at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, for Visitation on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 12 p.m. until the time of Celebration of Dorothy’s Life at 1 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation to follow. Donations can be made to Dorothy Ley Hospice or a charity of your choice.
