The family of Marija announce her peaceful passing on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Arbour Creek Long Term Care. Marija was born in Gornja Bistrica, Slovenia, the region of Prekmurje. She was a devoted and much loved wife to her late husband Karel for 60 years. They were married in Crensovci, Slovenia, on October 11, 1959. Marija was predeceased by her parents Janez and Terezija (Fotivec) Prsa. Survived by her sister Theresa Verdinsek (the late Frank). She was the sister and brother of Ema and Stefan Temlin (deceased) of Slovenia, Ignac and Olga Prsa (deceased), Milena, the late Steve (deceased) and Theresa Prsa. Marija leaves behind nieces, nephews, a great-niece and nephew, and is now reunited with her nephew Branko Temlin.

Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Monday from 3-7 p.m. Prayers 3 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory The Great Slovenian Church, 125 Centennial Pkwy. N., Hamilton, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 10am. Interment to follow at Our Lady of The Angels Cemetery, 681 Mud St. E., Stoney Creek.
