Obituary of Gerald Greer Taylor

Gerald “Gerry” Taylor of Stoney Creek passed peacefully surrounded by love in his 82nd year on December 4, 2025.

Gerry started his young adult life as a Peacekeeper in the Canadian Armed Forces. After leaving the army to start a family, he enjoyed a long career at Dofasco before retiring into a third career as Health and Safety Manager in the oil refinery industry. Gerry enjoyed reading books and was a book of knowledge, himself. There was nothing he couldn’t fix, build or figure out and he was highly skilled at model ship building. He cherished his beloved family pets and was a lifelong fan of the Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Tiger Cats. Gerry was calm, steady and a source of strength for all around him. He was immensely proud of his family and their accomplishments.

Gerry will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Deborah, his children Melody, Jill, Matthew, Sherisse, step son Chris, his grand and great grandchildren, siblings and friends. Despite our grief, we take comfort knowing that Gerry is now at peace and home with his Lord and Saviour.
