Obituary of Stanislav Miceski

With deep sadness and profound love, our family announces the passing of Stanislav Miceski, 89, on November 30th, 2025, at Hamilton General Hospital. Stanislav left this world after a long, full life, surrounded by the people who cherished him most.

Stanislav was a devoted husband to Slobodanka Miceski, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage and countless memories—from family trips to Florida and Cuba to heartfelt visits back home to Macedonia. Together, they built the foundation of a close, devoted family grounded in love, loyalty, and tradition.

He was a proud father to Nikola (Lily) and Boge (Sophia), and a deeply loving Deda to his cherished grandchildren Victor “Vitze” (Celia), Nicole “Nikki” (Nathan), and Anthony “Kuco” (Paige). Nothing brought him greater joy than becoming a great-grandfather to Mila, Kane, Sloane, Knox, and Kali, who he loved so very much. His face lit up every time they walked through the door.

Stanislav was born in Tajmista, Macedonia, on June 8, 1936, where he spent his early years before marrying his beloved wife, Slobodanka. With their two sons, they moved to Dolna Banjitsa, Gostivar, before their journey eventually brought them to Canada. Here, they built a new life while continuing to honour the values that defined their lives—hard work, resilience, integrity, and the importance of family above all.

In Canada, Stanislav spent many dedicated years working at Dofasco. Outside of work, his greatest joys were simple and pure: tending to his garden, cheering from the sidelines at his children’s and grandchildren’s sports games, and watching his family grow. He loved late nights spent entertaining Kumovi, family, and friends—playing cards, listening to music, sharing stories, and enjoying food made with love. In his retirement, the garden became his sanctuary. He took pride in teaching all of us the “right way” to water, plant, and care for his vegetables.

In his final years, he found comfort in life’s smaller moments—savouring fresh corn on the cob, scratching his crossword lottery tickets, and sharing quiet, meaningful time with those he loved most.

Our family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Lakeview Retirement Home for their compassionate care and support over the past five years. We also offer a sincere and enormous thank you to the Emergency Room and Step-Down Unit teams at Hamilton General Hospital. We will be forever grateful for their dedication, kindness, and exceptional care for Stanislav—and for our entire family.

Stanislav leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to family. His smile, his gentle spirit, and the unforgettable twinkle in his eye—especially when he was with his daughters-in-law and grandchildren—will live on in our hearts forever. We are grateful to have shared so many years in his presence.

Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive Stoney Creek on Thursday, December 4th from 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Vigil prayers at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Naum of Ohrid Macedonian Orthodox Church, 150 Stone Church Rd E, Hamilton on Friday, December 5th at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Donations in Stanislav’s memory can be made to Hamilton General Hospital Emergency department.

May he rest in eternal peace.
