Obituary of Gerald (Gerry) Wilbur
“A life well lived, and a man well loved.”
On Saturday, November 22, 2025, we said goodbye to our beloved father, Gerald (Gerry) Wilbur. Gerry passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital, in his 100th year. He is now reunited with his cherished wife of 65 years, Joyce. Gerry was the loving father of Alan (Pat) and Judy (Bruce) Robinson. Devoted grandpa to Alanna and Jordan (Sara), and proud great-grandpa to Noella, Myles, Nora, and Beau. He will be sadly missed by his dear friend Lauri and her family, as well as by many nieces and nephews.
Gerry and Joyce were longtime residents of Stoney Creek, where they raised their family before moving to Seasons and later Amica at age 93. Gerry dedicated more than 50 years of his career to E.D. Smith, and he filled his life with the things he loved most – bowling, golfing, travel, and the company of friends and family. A true people-person, he enjoyed a good conversation with just about anyone. He was a proud member of the Men’s Club, Rotary Club, and a committed volunteer with Meals on Wheels. Gerry and Joyce travelled the world together and enjoyed their happy place in Florida in their retirement years. We will forever miss his warm presence and his happy smile.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 1 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated.
