Obituary of Stephen Walter Demone
With profound sadness we announce that Steve passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025, surrounded by the comforting presence of his loving family.
Steve was the beloved husband of Karin for 45 years. He is deeply loved and will be forever missed by his daughter Julia, son-in-law Jeff and step-granddaughter, Peyton. Cherished son of Irene and the late Arthur. Dear brother to James, Cathy (Rick), Alan (Sharon) and brother-in-law to Mona (Alex) and the late Marilyn. Loving uncle to A.J., Melissa (Keith), Jeremy, Kyle (Ashley), Brenden (Kendra) and the late Daniel. Predeceased by his father-in-law Erik and mother-in-law Hilda. Steve will also be missed by a loved circle of extended family and dear friends.
Steve was a dedicated teammate and treasured the camaraderie with friends made during his many years as a member of the Burlington Oldtimers Hockey Club and the Burlington Oldtimers Slo-Pitch League. Quick to joke and ever supportive, Steve’s presence will be deeply missed. Though he is no longer with us, Steve’s memory lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, and in the stories, traditions, and love he leaves behind. The family is thankful for the exemplary care provided to Steve at Joseph Brant Hospital.
Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 in the Funeral Home Chapel at 1:30 p.m., followed by a reception from 2:00-4:00 p.m. If you wish to honour Steve with a Memorial Tribute, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charitable organization of your choice would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
