Obituary of Ian John Rockall

Ian John Rockall, 76, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, in Hamilton, Ontario. Born on September 25, 1949, in Rustington, England, Ian’s life was marked by resilience, craftsmanship, and a deep appreciation for connection and community.

Ian immigrated to Canada as a skilled tool and die maker for Eaton Yale Fasteners. His precision and dedication to his craft were evident throughout his career. Later in life, he found fulfillment working as a groundskeeper at Beverley Golf Course—a role that allowed him to combine his love of the outdoors with his meticulous attention to detail.

Ian was known for his outgoing nature and gift for storytelling. Whether sharing tales from his youth or recounting humorous moments from everyday life, he had a way of bringing people together through laughter and warmth. A true jack of all trades, Ian’s talents extended beyond his professional life into woodworking projects and home repairs—always ready with a clever solution or helping hand.

He found joy in the simple pleasures: tending to his garden, perfecting his golf swing, or enjoying the company of friends and family. His athleticism remained a defining trait throughout his life, matched only by his kindness and brilliance.

Ian was deeply loved by those closest to him. He is survived by his sister Angela (Clive); daughters Christine, Katherine (Mike), and Vanessa (Ted); son Ian (Jaime); grandchildren Samantha, Alice, Rowan, Aowyn, Blake, Seth, and Hannah; his mother-in-law Jenny; his partner Isabel and his sweet dog Rudy. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Elizabeth and later partner Lynne.

A celebration of Ian’s life will be held in Stoney Creek, Ontario.

May the memory of Ian John Rockall bring comfort to all who knew him and continue to inspire stories shared for generations to come. A Visitation will be held on November 9, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Donald V.
