Obituary of Barry David James
September 16th, 1958 - October 18th, 2025
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather. Barry will be lovingly remembered by his wife Kerry of 45 years, his daughters, Shannon (Justin), Rebecca, and his grandchildren, Devon, Rayna, Lincoln, Jordan, and Taylor.
Barry also leaves behind his parents Dave and Ruth, sisters, Debbie, Renee (Russ), brother Michael (Brenda), sisters-in-law, Jacqueline (Don), Beverley (David), Judi, Michelle (Randy) and many nieces and nephews.
Barry’s passion was being a part of all things retail oriented. He enjoyed expanding his knowledge at each organization he worked for. He had the pleasure to work for Woolco, Canadian Tire, Lowe’s and Sicard RV’s. He loved the art of negotiation, and was very successful as a forward thinking Business Entrepreneur, bringing the world of ecommerce, social media and signage into each business. Working at a Management level at other organizations prepared him for operating his successful businesses of: Jim’s Nut Shack, The Buck or Two and Kerry’s Party for Less. Barry helped run Franchise Organization and was a Key Note Speaker for the Franchisee Organization.
Barry also loved to travel, he loved to golf, and was a huge Star Wars fan. He was very proud of being a Director at the Glendale Golf and Country Club. Barry will be greatly missed by many family members and friends.
As an expression of sympathy or in lieu of flowers, donations to Margaret’s Place Hospice or providing a random act of kindness in his honour would be appreciated.
