We knew Barry through his wife Kerry, and from the very beginning, he was always so friendly and welcoming. His warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on us, and we are grateful to have shared moments with him.
We extend our deepest condolences to Kerry and the entire James family during this time of loss.
Rest in peace, Barry.
With sympathy, Angela & John Shelsan Sales Limited

Barry and Kerry gave me this the first time I left the store… I have it all these years later because of the amazing people they are… and how much growing up in the ABOT family meant. RIP Barry. Much love Kerry, Shannon and Becka

Brian and Diane Robertson,
We have so many great memories of Barry and Kerry from “the early days” in Calgary. Barry was a great mentor. He was a sharp businessman and a wonderful friend. No one could tell a story better than Barry! Rest in Peace my friend.

Fond memories of Barry.. A sweet, happy guy. I have repeated many time, how he entertained a large group of people, at a party, at my home. Singing all the 60s70s sitcom songs (Gilgans Island, Flintstones,Beverly Hillbilly’s etc)and then before you know it, all the party was singing along with him❤️ Thanks you Barry, for that wonderful memory…Condolences to you Kerry and your family

Kerry and family...so sorry to hear the news of Barry's passing!
He was a character in many regards. I remember attending a business conference with him when he worked as General Manager at the Canadian Tire in Midland. After that 'charged' meeting, he was excited to go on to bigger and better things, as evidently he did!
I also fondly remember the several Christmas parties we had at each others homes. He would become a very funny animated personality. He always reminded me of 'Charlie Chaplin' with his comic approach to most things.
All the best to your family...Rest in peace Barry.

I am so sorry to hear of Barry's passing. He was our first General Manager at Canadian Tire in Midland, Ontario. He left to start with a Buck or Two and was so excited not to have to deal with customer returns. Many condolences, Louise

Our heart-felt condolences to the James family.
We met Barry thru Kerry as we share a strong interest in the international balloon industry. Barry was smart, fun and a worker!
Wish we had made the time for more boating together.
You will never be forgotten.

Barry was a great influence in my life. He always gave sound advice and cared deeply about the importance of taking care of yourself. Whenever we would get together he would always check in to make sure i was getting enough sleep. I really enjoyed playing golf with him and the tips he would give to help me and my son Jordan. At golf there were lots of laugh's, tight and competivie games and great opportunities to bond. Im so thankful to be blessed with having him as a father in law and a mentor. Im gonna miss you Barry and im excited to defend our golfing title one day when we meet again. Love you Barry

From Boston:
I really loved my Grandpa. He gave me way more Dentastix than I'm allowed at home because I was his favorite. I will miss him a lot.
If it weren't for Grandpa - I would have never met my Grandma. Grandma used to be so afraid of being bit by a dog she wouldn't ever be near one but my Grandpa convinced her I was special so to let me visit. Now Grandma and I will be best friends forever.
I will give Grandma lots of snuggles for you Grandpa. I will cheer her up. And I'll train her to give me the Dentastix in your honour...
Love Boston

My Dad has always been hilarious - and business savvy - even during our father daughter dance (which I was sure I was going to be a puddle of tears for) he was cracking me up & giving me business tips - we had a blast - what a great way to ensure my makeup stayed on point and build memories that were truly me & my Dad :)
