Obituary of Rocco Mario Centurione
February 26, 1938 - October 16, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather Rocco on October 16, 2025, at the age of 87 years. Devoted husband of Livia for 61 years. Lovingly remembered by his sons Tony (Christine) and Mauro (Karen) and very proud Grandpa of Samantha (Dennis), Sophia (Morgan), Isabella, Olivia, Natasha, Tori, Chelsea, Luke, and great-grandpa of Alistair. Dear brother of Luigi (the late Livia), the late Donato (Ada), the late Giuseppe (Antonia), Maria (the late GianFranco), and brother-in-law of the late Emidio (the late Eva) Napoleone, Lucia (the late Santino) DiRenzo, the late Carlo (Domenica) Napoleone, the late Gino (the late Antonietta) Napoleone, the late Ottavio (Anna) Napoleone and Antonietta (the late Remo) DiBiase. Will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rocco was born in Serramonacesca, in the province of Pescara in Abruzzo Italy. He was the first of his family to immigrate to Canada in 1958 to start a new life. He was known for his unmatched work ethic and excelled in construction and concrete work which he continued for many years. He eventually retired from Dofasco at the age of 65 after 25 years of service. He was known for his love of gardening and his generosity of sharing his plants with anyone he met. He enjoyed poetry writing, wine making and always had a cantina full of sausage, cheese, prosciutto and freshly made tomato sauce. His most prized possessions in the entire world were his Grandchildren. He adored each and every visit and was so very proud of them. They will hold him in their hearts always. Special thank you to Dr. Stabiano and Dr. Curnew for their years of caring for Rocco.
