Obituary of Elzbieta Barbara Kisielewski

February 24, 1958 – October 14, 2025

With grace in her soul and courage in her heart, Elzbieta Barbara Kisielewski passed away peacefully at home on October 14, 2025, at the age of 67, after a long and valiant journey through illness.

Born in Białobrzegi, Poland, on February 24, 1958, Elzbieta lived a life defined by compassion, resilience, and quiet strength. She began her journey as a registered nurse in Poland, a vocation that reflected her deep empathy and unwavering dedication to others. After moving to Germany in 1988, and later to Canada in 1992, she once again pursued her nursing credentials, determined to continue her calling in a new country. Throughout her career, Elzbieta was admired not only for her skill and professionalism but for her tender heart. Patients and families often expressed their gratitude through heartfelt words, small gifts, and quiet moments of appreciation. She had the rare ability to connect instantly with people, offering comfort, understanding, and deeply felt advice that came from a place of true care. To her friends, she was loyal and generous—always present, always sincere. To her grandchildren, she was a source of endless love, warmth, and sweet treats.

Elzbieta also possessed an extraordinary gift for the handmade arts—knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and sewing. Her intricate sweaters and unique creations were proudly worn by her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Elzbieta is survived by her beloved husband Marian, who cared for her tirelessly with devotion and love; her daughter Magdalena Nawrot, son-in-law Marek Nawrot, and grandchildren Maximilian, Maya, and Milena; her son Mariusz Kisielewski, daughter-in-law Magdalena Kisielewska, and granddaughter Annika.  She will be remembered fondly by her extended family in Poland and by all who were blessed to know her.

Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A Rosary and Mass in Elzbieta’s intention will be held on Friday, October 17th at 6:00 p.m at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 8 Saint Ann St., Hamilton. As per her wishes, Elzbieta will be laid to rest in her cherished hometown in Poland.
