Obituary of Mary Patricia "Pat" Donald (nee Minigan)

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Pat Donald at St. Peter’s Hospital after a valiant and hard fought battle with cancer. Her beloved husband of 55 years, Robert (Bob) was by her side.  Cherished mother of Caitlin and adored grandmother of Isaiah, Isabella and Noah. Predeceased by granddaughter, baby Grace.  Pat will be deeply missed by her siblings Bob (Mary) and Sherri (Wayne), her sister-in-law Ruth (Don), her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, her many cousins and extended family and friends.  Pat was fortunate to have many special friends and family who tirelessly kept her company throughout her journey.

Pat impacted countless students in her 48 year teaching career and influenced many more to love reading during her years as a teacher librarian. Pat’s greatest joy in the last few years was her grandchildren, but she also loved quilting, travelling and cooking and especially enjoyed a good book and a glass of wine in the Airstream at her beloved Algonquin Park when the air was crisp and the leaves were turning.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to PSW Kristen and Nurse Marian who looked after Pat so well at home and the staff at both Juravinski and St. Peter’s Hospitals for their compassionate care. If desired, donations may be made in Pat’s memory to St. Peter’s Hospital.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at the Southbrook Golf & Country Club, 4349 Hwy 56 South, Binbrook on Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
