Obituary of David (Dave) Patrick DePaulo

With heavy hearts, the family announces the sudden passing of David (Dave) Patrick DePaulo on Saturday, October 4, 2025, in Smithville, Ontario. He was 51.

Dave was born in Hamilton, Ontario, where he lived the majority of his life. He attended St. Jean de Brebuf High School and went on to Mohawk College where he successfully completed the Surveying program. He worked for 25 years at E.D Smith in multiple capacities. 

Dave was a kind, fun- loving man with a great sense of humor. He was a huge hockey fan and loved to watch the Philadelphia Flyers, often teasing and being teased by the many Toronto Maple Leaf fans that surrounded him. Dave could often be found puttering around the garage, beer in hand, chatting with friends and working on the various cars he owned throughout his life. He will be dearly missed by many friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Dave is survived by his wife Lorri (Tweedle), children Marissa and Adam, step-children Jared and Kylie, and brother Kevin (Sabrina).

His family takes comfort in the many wonderful memories they shared with Dave, and that he is reunited with his parents, predeceased Dave and Judy (Dale) DePaulo, and grandparents Patrick and Irma (Lickers) DePaulo. 

Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 1-4 p.m. Funeral to follow on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.
