Obituary of Trevor Ivor Shields
Trevor Ivor Shields, 77 years old, a beloved son of Jamaica and treasured musician, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, in Hamilton, Canada surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on March 12, 1948, Trevor dedicated over 20 years serving as Clerk of Court at the Supreme Court in Jamaica, before migrating to Canada where he dedicated another 28 years at Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy.
Throughout his life, he was deeply passionate about music, sharing his remarkable talents as a guitarist and singer. Trevor’s musical journey was marked by his role as the lead singer of renowned Jamaican groups, The Beltones and Fantels. Among their many recordings, The Beltones’ “No More Heartaches” featuring Trevor’s soulful voice remains a cherished classic. His vibrant performances spanned local and national events in both Jamaica and Canada, encompassing diverse musical genres that never failed to captivate audiences and leave them wanting more.
Family, friends, and all who admired his gift are invited to celebrate Trevor’s life at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Tuesday, October 14 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Hamilton East Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 203 Bell Ave, Hamilton, on Wednesday, October 15 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Hamilton Cemetery, 260 Rymal Rd. E, Hamilton.
