Obituary of John Goar

After a valiant battle with cancer, John passed away peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior surrounded by his loving family Friday September 12,2025 in his 75th year. Beloved husband to Annette (Jansen). Loving Father of Derek (Lauren), Kai (Megs), Jason (Jodi), Kevin (Trish). The Lord blessed John with being a proud and cherished Opa to 10 wonderful Grandchildren. John will also be deeply missed by his Brothers-In-Law and Sisters-In-Law: Joan, Mick (Ina), Henry (Bob dec.), June (John) as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents Mary and William John Goar.

John will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and the unwavering love he shared with all who knew him. He was a source of strength, encouragement and dependable support to his family friends and community. A man of deep faith John loved and lived that love through service. He found joy in his passions for horses, his dogs and muscle cars. John dedicated 37 years of his career to Norton Abrasives Saint-Gobain and lived out his calling as a servant of the Lord by faithfully volunteering with his Church, HOOTC, HBSPCA and several horse farms. His life was a blessing and his legacy of Love will never be forgotten.

Family and Friends are invited to Visitation at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday, September 18th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Stoney Creek Baptist Church 79 Collegiate Avenue, Stoney Creek on Friday, September 19th at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stoney Creek Baptist Church.
