Obituary of Douglas Earle Stevenson

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Doug, on Friday, September 5, 2025, in his 91st year, surrounded by his loving family and friends.  He was born in the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia on December 22, 1934.

He leaves behind his wife of 68 years, Mildred.  Missing him will be his son Glen (Christine) and daughter Karen.  Proud papa of Randi, Jay, Sidney, Jacob and their spouses.  GREAT-papa to Marley, Cam, Ruby, Carson, Briar, Brooks and soon to be baby Millie. Survived by his brother Bill and sister Paula (John) Cooper, and many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by siblings Milner and Shirley.  

Special thank you to long time friends Marion, Dianne and Irene. Doug enjoyed entertaining, golfing and country music with his buds Alfie and Emile.

Always a rye and ginger man  - "easy on the ice". 

Thank you to the PSW team for their kind care.  As per Doug's request, cremation has taken place.  

Celebration of Life to be held at the Stoney Creek Legion Branch 622, 12 King St. E., on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.
