Obituary of Dave Chevrier
After a lengthy illness and lifelong battle with alcohol, Joesph David “Just Dave” Chevrier passed away peacefully to begin his spiritual journey at Juravinski Hospital, on Tuesday September 2, 2025, at the age of 68.
Beloved partner of Michael Fitzpatrick for 11 years.
Dave had great respect and love for his mother, Marie Chevrier, who predeceased him by one year. Dave left behind siblings: Pat, Kathy (Jim), Bernadette (John), Bryan, Lynn (Ross), Gail, Billy, Joesph and Robert (Kelly).
Dave was the father of two children, Justin David Chevrier and Lindsay Lillian Masse (Joesph A). Dave had four granddaughters: Aria, Emma, Isla and Olivia.
Dave will be missed by many nieces and nephews. He was a very special uncle to Jeffrey “Jeffman” Mason as they enjoyed talking with a Donald Duck voice as part of their special bond over the years!
Dave worked as a professional bus operator for BC Transit for 18 years.
Dave will be remembered for his laugh, love of music as well as his wandering ways throughout his lifetime.
Visitation will take place Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday September 4, from 5 to 8 pm.
Second Visitation will take place at Christ’s Church Cathedral, 252 James St N. (Parking lot off Hughson St.) Friday September 5, from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Service to follow beginning at 10:30 am.
The burial will take place at Mount Hamilton Cemetery, Rymal Rd. E. and Upper Wellington.
