Obituary of Donna Marie Williams

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of the very heart of our family, Donna Marie Williams on 26 August, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton, with her loving family at her bedside.

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on 24 December, 1946, she had a difficult upbringing under the care of the NS Children’s Aid Society but survived to become a loving wife, mom, gramma and great gramma. Donna was most at home in her beloved garden where she spent hours planting, weeding, and nurturing a wide variety of flowers and vegetables. She was also an excellent chef and spent a good deal of the time preparing feasts for the various family gatherings at Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and the many birthdays throughout the year. Christmas was always a very special time, and she would go miles out of her way to make it a joyous occasion for all.

Predeceased by her beloved daughter Kimberlea Dawn, brothers John (Jack) Clements, Jim McGowan and Danny Martin; cherished sisters Goldie (Gord) Statts, and Gloria Phillips. She is survived by her devoted husband Dave, her loving children Steve (Karen), Jonathan (Jennifer), Andrea (Dave), Sara (Fred) and Jacquelyn (Jeff) as well as her beautiful grandchildren Kevin (Kailie), Andrew, Sail, Ryan, Emily, Sienna, Nathan, Samantha, William, Abigaile, and Darcy; adopted grandchildren Jude and Ronan; great grandchildren William, Warren and Charlie; sisters Judy and Pam; younger brothers Rick and Gary; and many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family who loved her dearly. 

Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will be received on Saturday, September 6, from 12-1 p.m. at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek. A Memorial Service will follow at 1 p.m.
