Obituary of Donato Racaniello

It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss that we share the peaceful passing of Donato Racaniello, aged 89, of Stoney Creek, Ontario, on August 20, 2025.

Visitation will be held at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home Ltd., 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Friday, August 22, from 2 to 4 p.m.and 6 to 8 p.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, 304 Hwy 8, Stoney Creek, ON, on Saturday, August 23, at 10 a.m. Donato will then be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery, 681 Mud Street East, Stoney Creek.

Donato was born in Castelgrande, Italy, to Nicola and Costanza. In his early years, he immigrated to Canada in search of new opportunities, where he built a life centered on hard work, family, and faith. A proud entrepreneur, Donato established and grew several successful businesses over the years, leaving behind a legacy of determination, hospitality, and devotion as a family man. His greatest joy came from being surrounded by his loved ones, who were always at the heart of everything he did.

Donato is survived by his wife, Maria Giuseppa; his children, Costanza (Rosario), Modesta (David), Caterina (Francisco), Nicola, and Mary (Bruce); and his grandchildren, Teresa (Sam), Pina (Andrew), Erica (Robbie), Salhma, Dimitri, and Alazandria.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Nicola and Costanza, and his siblings, Rosanna, Giuseppe, Gerardo, Maria Antonia, Francesca, and Agnesa.
