Obituary of Hazel Pluim
It is with profound sadness that we mourn the loss of a truly extraordinary individual, Hazel Pluim. To have known Hazel was to feel the warmth of a woman who devoted herself to loving and caring for others. Her remarkable nurturing instinct shone brightly; she had an innate ability to draw babies close and offer them comfort. Hazel was a beacon of support, always ready to lend a helping hand and go above and beyond for anyone in need. Her strength and determination were evident throughout her life, especially during difficult times, including the loss of her beloved Jack and her own health challenges. We take solace in knowing that in her final moments, she felt the love and presence of those she cherished most.
Hazel leaves behind her beloved children and grandchildren: John (Stephanie) Brody Pluim, Carrie (Joseph) Sky, Aslan and Lyric Leo; Wendy (Brad) Izzy Henderson-Pluim, Andrea and Matt Smith, Valerie and Sophie Brown, Maurice Castellanos and Cody. She is also survived by her brother Gordan (Torie) Boyd and their family, as well as relatives in Scotland and Holland.
Throughout her 30+ years with CCAS, Hazel was fortunate to meet and support many individuals, some of whom became her closest friends. A celebration of her life will be arranged at a later date, honoring her memory with close family and friends who loved her deeply.
