Obituary of Irena Vojnovic (nee Vlaovic)

Passed away peacefully at Abington Court Retirement Residence, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Kosta Vojnovic. Dearly loved mother of Milena (known to many of her friends and family as Mickey) and loving mother-in-law to John Capuano.

A heartfelt thank you to the many healthcare professionals that supported and cared for Mom throughout her long health journey. A special thank you to Dr. Azzam, Dr. Talman, and Nurses Ian and Clarissa. Many thanks to the caring and wonderful staff at Abington Court Retirement Home. Irena will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by family and friends in the USA and Europe.

Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation to follow. Private family interment will be held at Eastlawn Cemetery.
