Obituary of Donald Frederick Henshaw

Surrounded by the love of his devoted family, Donald Frederick Henshaw passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in his 92nd year. After a brief stay, he departed this world with grace and dignity, ready to be reunited with the love of his life and best friend, Ethel May, his beloved wife of 68 beautiful years.

A cherished and dedicated father to Wendy Archambault (late Wayne), Donna Vanderwoude (Bob Dyment), and Linda Sullivan (Randy). His legacy lives on through his adoring grandchildren Shawn (Laura), Stefany (Tony), Steven (Maygan), Erin, Isaac, Brett, Samantha (Conor), Seth, Carly, Randy Jr., Amber, and Ryan, and his treasured great-grandchildren Isaac, Isla, Ford, and Blakely.

Don was a proud and hardworking member of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters UA Local 67. He built a rewarding career as a plumber with Adam Clark Plumbing and later served as a respected building supervisor with the Hamilton Spectator.

Don was a man of quiet strength, deep values, and many passions. He found great joy in gardening, and was especially proud of his beautiful, weedless gardens—an oasis he tended with care and pride. A skilled woodworker, he delighted in creating birdhouses and handmade gifts that will forever be treasured by his family.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Highgate Residence and St. Joseph’s Hospital for their care and kindness during Don’s final days.
