Obituary of Cheryl Lynn Adeline Millar

(Dean)

Passed away on June 17th, 2025 at St. Peter’s Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by her husband Gord Millar, son Stephen Dean, brother Ron Dean, and grandchildren Sierra, Draven, Caiden, Asia, Myan and Claudija. Cheryl was also an aunt to her many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Cheryl was born in Hamilton where she attended Sir Winston Churchill School. She became a young mother at the age of 19. She worked as a waitress at Calhouns and John Doe's Restaurant for 30 years before moving on to an office job at Guild Stationery and taking an early retirement.

Cheryl’s retirement was filled with spending time with her grandchildren, doing her crafts which she excelled at, reading, and her love for listening to music. She was a remarkable, strong woman with the most positive attitude a person could have. She always made people feel comfortable and at home. Her permanent smile would light up a room, her iconic laugh was like no other, and her smooth, sultry voice was truly mesmerizing.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the St. Peter’s Hospital for their compassionate care. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held, on Friday, June 20 at 10:30 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Online condolences and notes of sympathy may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca

Cheryl can never be replaced. She was wife, lover, best friend, and soul mate to Gord for 31 amazing years. Her memory will live on in our hearts forever. You are already dearly missed.
