Obituary of Sebastian Xavier DeSouza
Peacefully passed away in his home in Stoney Creek in his 70th year, Sebastian Xavier (affectionately known as ‘Uncle Shars’ by his nephews and nieces), will forever be missed, and is now with his ancestors. Predeceased by father Tome, and mother Christaline. Predeceased by common-law partner Dianna. Survived by sister Santana. Predeceased by brothers Antonio and Joaquim, and sisters Marcil, Beatrice, Agnes, and Rupertina. Sadly missed by sisters-in-law Jane and Jasmine, and brother-in-law Carminho and Thomas. Predeceased by sisters-in-law Julie and Alba, and brothers-in-law Hector, Joseph, and Willy. Loved by his many nephews John, Joseph, Edward, Thomas, Francis, Reuel, and Sanjay and nieces Christine, Bernadette, Elvina, Rita, Fiona, Lynette, and Afra. Missed by the partners of his nephews and nieces, Marlene, Dionne, Mark, Bosco, Vincent, and late partner Ryan, and the children of his nephews and nieces, Jadelyne, Zoe, Xzandre, Charlotte, Xzayden, Xzaavier, Chelsea, Brunelle, Joash, Johan, Sarah, Alden, Andrew, Andrea, Pravin, Edward, Myola, Kenneth, and Kimberly.
Sebastian is from Quitula, Aldona, born in Bardez, Goa, India, and emigrated to Canada in the 1970’s. He worked at Dominion Glass for 20 years. Sebastian enjoyed the company of his and Dianna’s many dogs and cats over the years. Sebastian adored gardening, tending his rose bushes, and cherished planting different vegetables in his backyard; he enjoyed cooking and sharing his produce with others. Sebastian loved watching sports, especially football, and appreciated Hindi movies.
Family will receive friends at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday, June 15, 2025, from 2:00 p.m.– 5:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.
