It is with extreme sadness that we announce that Laverne has passed away in his 82nd year. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine for 20 years. Predeceased by his first wife, Betty. Loved father of Christine, Doug (Steph), and very loved stepfather to Wendy Clark (David Coulter). Much loved grandfather of Tyler Gaddye. Loved brother of Gwenn (Doug Broomfield) and Frances (Alex Stankiewicz). A great brother-in-law to John Drysdale (Arlene), Karen Clark, Margaret Drysdale, Roy Drysdale (Belinda) and Lynda Norris. The very best uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Vern wore many hats in his life and was loved by all who had the good fortune to know him. He was involved with Blackheath Binbrook Lions Club, Glanbrook Community Services, Glanbrook Rangers Jr. C Hockey Club, the Committee of Adjustment for the City of Hamilton, and Challenger Baseball (Santa). He had a love for fishing, hunting and anything outdoors. Life will not be the same without him. Thanks to Bob Kemp Hospice where he was kept comfortable in his final days.

Friends and family will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenu Drive, Stoney Creek, on Tuesday, May 20 from 2-7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Glanbrook Arena, 4300 Binbrook Rd, Binbrook, on Wednesday, May 21 at 11 a.m. A private interment for immediate family will take place the following day.
