Obituary of Wendell (Peter) Briggs

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Wendell (Peter) Briggs at the age of 83. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Elsie, and children Shelley, Craig (Devin), and grandchildren Ethan and Stella.

Pete, as he was known, was a jokester who loved to socialise and tell his stories. He loved to go fishing at his camp in Plaster Rock, NB, and at his winter home in St. Augustine, Florida. He spent a few years in the Canadian Armed Forces and spent his last days in the care of the Parkwood Veterans Hospital in London, ON. We would like to thank the Parkwood staff for their amazing care.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Stoney Creek Legion, 12 King St E, Stoney Creek, on Sunday, June 1, from 12-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkwood Veterans Care Program, 550 Wellington Rd, London, ON, N6C 0A7 (Make cheques payable to St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation with memo stating ‘Fund for Veterans Care Program’).
