David Badgley

Obituary of David Andrew Badgley

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Andrew Badgley on April 30, 2025, at the age of 63. Dave was born on March 27, 1962 in Trenton, ON, to George and Louis (Nee Monroe) Badgley.

Dave met the love of his life and beloved wife, Kim Badgley of 35 years in the County and they became inseparable. Dave was known for his strong will, unwavering determination, and love and support for his family, friends and community. He always took a genuine interest in the lives of other fostering connections beyond the traditional family. With not having any children of their own, he focused his time and attention on Kim, the extended families they cultivated, and the boys Hamilton Rep hockey. Dave added humour, many stories and a listening ear wherever he went. He lived life to the fullest.

Dave worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Dofasco in Hamilton for 38 and a half years until his retirement in 2019. For many years he could be found playing baseball at the Dofasco Recreation Centre until he transitioned to hours at the golf course instead, which was a love that Kim and Dave had together. After retiring, he spent his days puttering around, golfing, spending time at Rice Lake, travelling, snapping pictures, going for walks and taking in the many activities of all his children from his extended families. He was their number one cheerleader. When Dave wasn’t at a planned event, he could often be found grilling, sitting on the front deck with Kim and a glass of red wine, or watching a sporting event on television.

Preceded in joining the Lord: Father and Mother, George and Louis Badgley, brother Doug and his sister Deb.

Survived by his wife Kim Badgley and sister Sara Badgley as well as by several loving friends and godchildren whom he cherished.

To honour his wishes, there will be no funeral service. We invite you to please privately celebrate Dave’s memory in your own ways. We know that he will be with us all in spirit. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time. A celebration of life will take place at a later date to be determined.
