Obituary of Stephen Anthony Kadrowsky

Stephen Kadrowsky went home to be with Jesus, his Lord and Saviour, on April 11, 2025, at age 78. Stephen was born to Stanley and Gladys Kadrowsky on April 7, 1947, in Hamilton, Ontario. He enjoyed growing up on Gage Avenue in the old Brightside neighbourhood. This is where he met his “Buddy Boys”, who became lifelong friends, and he developed a deep appreciation for his Polish heritage.

Stephen met his wife, Deborah Ashton, on February 7, 1970, at Lake Gospel Church in Hamilton. They married on September 9, 1972, and went on to have two children, Jennifer and Duane.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving husband and father, Stephen also loved the Hamilton Tiger-Cats football team and was a longtime season ticket holder. For 36 years, he worked at Dofasco in the Tin Mill. During that time, he enjoyed playing goalie with the Dofasco Old Timers Hockey League and singing with the Dofasco Male Chorus.

Throughout his entire life, Stephen held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him. As a member of Cheyne Presbyterian Church, he led services at nursing homes, supported youth groups, and sang in the choir. He truly loved serving and connecting with people.

Stephen is survived by his wife Debbie; his children, Jennifer (Shawn) Smith of Cambridge and Duane (Chantale) Kadrowsky of Hamilton; and grandchildren, Jacob, Evan, Thomas, and Zachary. He is also survived by his dear cousins, Marie and John Wenslawek of Hamilton.

The family will receive friends at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mountview Gardens Cemetery in Stoney Creek.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Cheyne Presbyterian Church or Parkinson Canada would be sincerely appreciated.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." –Matthew 25:23
