Obituary of Dave Bruce Gibson

On the morning of March 10th, Dave passed away after a lengthy battle with COPD. He will be sadly missed by his wife Brenda of 54 years, his daughters Michelle (Steve), Denise (Ryan) and his five grandchildren, Kaley, Jenna, Jillian, Zachary, and Sarah. He will also be missed by his brother John (Pauline) and his nieces Diane, Janet, Dawn, and especially Kim and family. Predeceased by parents, Ruby and Jack, brother in-law, Bob, and sisters in-law Barb M and Barb D.

Dave grew up in Stoney Creek with a love for fishing and camping. He was a dedicated fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. Over his 50 year career he was involved in numerous projects and was a proud member of the Local 18 Carpenter’s Union. He enjoyed going to the luncheons and seeing friends there.

A heartfelt thank-you to all the neighbors and friends who have supported the family. Also a special thank-you to the staff at the Hamilton General Hospital who provided such compassion and care.

Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Saturday, March 15 from 1-3 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m.
