Today we came together with heavy hearts but also a deep gratitude that we celebrate the life of our beloved GG, grandma ,mother and most importantly a cherished wife. A woman whose kindness was and is always referenced, and whose presence in our lives was a constant source of love and comfort.
Grandma had a heart that always knew how to make others feel safe, valued, and cherished. Whether it was through a warm hug, a shared laugh, or just the way she listened with care, her love was unconditional. When we were kids, she had a remarkable gift of making every moment spent with her feel like a treasure, a gift that upon reflection none of us will ever forget.
Her relationship with our Grandpa was one of the most beautiful examples of loyalty and devotion. Through the 74 years, their love for one another was so obvious . The partnership they shared was not just built on affection, but on mutual respect, trust, and support. They were empty nesters at 40, so they definitely had to really enjoy one another’s company. But as my grandpa said “if you had a problem with Joyce, then there is something wrong with you”. Their love was a testament to what it means to truly stand by someone through every stage of life.
As children, it always felt like grandparents never aged. Time seemed to stand still when we were with her, and in our eyes, she remained ageless—forever full of life while chasing a stream of kids around. Now, as we reflect on her life and the memories she leaves behind, we realize that her love, smiles and laughter will continue to live on in our hearts, making her forever present.
Grandma may no longer be with us in the physical sense, but she is woven into who we are thanks to being born into this beautiful family. When I think of grandma, she truly is what I set the bar at for all things loving and good, and we are forever grateful for the time we had with her.
Rest in peace, Grandma. You will always be loved, always be missed, and always be in our hearts.

We were so sad to hear of Joyce's passing. She was our wonderful friend and babysitter for many years and we all have such great family memories of her. She made us part of her family. Her Christmas squares and cookies were so unbelievably good! Upon hearing the sad news my son Shea wrote, "So many fond memories, and we were incredibly fortunate to have someone so kind and caring in our lives growing up.
Heartfelt condolences to all. She will surely be missed.
Love,
Karen (Moss), Jesse, Shea and Kylee Berencsi

Vivian and I were heartbroken when we learned of Aunt Joyce’s passing. She was special to me as is Uncle Salt as they took me into their home when I first went to work at Laurel Steel in Stoney Creek. This was my first time away from home and right away, it still felt like home.
I will never forget their generosity and caring taking me in and giving me my start.
Thoughts and prayers to Uncle Salt, Janice, Ken and their families.
Cherished memories as a kid when our family, the Becker’s,Strickers and Barbers were all able to get together.
God bless you Aunt Joyce.
Love, Wayne, Vivian and family.

My heart is broken with the loss of such a beautiful soul, my grandma. Her smile would light up a room, her kindness could warm anyone's heart and those gentle hand squeezes could heal any pain. She is deeply missed already and will be loved forever as her memories carry on. Rest in peace grandma, I love you. Dance with the angels, until we meet again. Xo

I had the greatest pleasure to have the best Mom in the whole wide world. Sounds a bit over the top but it’s true. She was also a very loving grandmother and wife of 74 years. My Dad always said how wonderful she was and how lucky he was to have met her. We all have a lot of great family memories, most times it was special occasions when everyone looked forward to one of her wonderful meals always finishing with her homemade desserts, pies, cakes, cookies and lots of other pastries. She loved to share her baking with friends, neighbours and the church bake sale. I will always remember the great times we had together with her and as a family. Not sure my sisters knows this but Mom always told me I was her favourite child. Love you and will never forget you. Ken.
