Obituary of Sandra Darlene Horning-Leng (Begg)
Sandra passed away peacefully on Monday February 17, 2025 in her 85th year. She was predeceased by her parents, Stewart “Mike” and Annie Begg, her brother Earl (Helen), her beloved late husband Wm. Orval Horning, and her caring late husband George Leng.
A devoted mother, Sandra cherished her children Glenn (Cheryl), Mark (Michelle), Cheryl Smith (Mark), and Allan (Melanie). She was a loving grandmother to Jillian (Dixon), Jonathan, Emily-Rose Pot (Jared), Allyssa Wilson (Jason), Victoria, Natalie Byleveld (Trent), Rebecca Smith, Kierra Smith, Caleb Smith (Joy), and Jacob Smith (Shiloh), and a proud great-grandmother to three little darlings. She will be deeply missed her sister-in-law Gloria, many cousins and by all who knew and loved her.
After years as a dedicated homemaker, Sandra later worked in the office at Dofasco.
Sandra’s faith was the foundation of her life. She loved the Lord with all her heart and was known for singing hymns while baking pies for those she loved. She found joy in teaching her grandchildren how to sew, bake, and embrace life with laughter. Her home was always open—offering warmth, wisdom, and a welcoming cup of tea.
Deeply committed to her church, Sandra attended Delta Tabernacle before helping establish Paramount Drive Alliance Church, where she served on the Board of Elders and led women’s Bible studies. She shared the gospel with anyone willing to listen, always leading by example through her kindness and faith.
Sandra’s legacy of love and service touched countless lives. She praised the Lord in every season of life, and her family finds comfort knowing she is now at peace, continuing to encourage them from heaven.
The family appreciates the incredible care given to Mom by the Staff on Harbor Lane at United Mennonite Home in Vineland.
A private interment service was held at Trinity Church Cemetery
