William "Bill" Bert Heinbecker Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bill Heinbecker announce his passing at St. Peter’s Hospital on February 17, 2025 at the age of 98. Loving and proud father to Randy and Nikie and grandkids Erin and Owen. He is now happily reunited with; the love of his life, Eileen (Rea) who they shared 63 wonderful years together before her passing in 2017; their son Rickie and grandson William. Born October 26, 1926 in a farmhouse in Hamilton, Bill was the fifth child of eight, to parents August and Winnifred Heinbecker. Survived by his younger brother Vic.

The south-paw had a passion for baseball and he played for many years in the big four fastball league in Hamilton before moving on to Mount Hope Tri-County league where they won OASA twice. Bill had a successful career working in management at Ware Foods, which later changed to Ed Smith’s prior to his retirement in 1988. He happily spent his days enjoying odd jobs, family, gardening, and his daily long walks and chats with whom-ever he would meet along the way. Bill was an old school spirt, said it like it was kind of guy and would do anything he could to help anyone. He will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 11 AM with graveside service to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
