Obituary of Gordon Frederick Bramer

Love and appreciation for a life well lived, we share the passing of Gordon Frederick Bramer on February 16, 2025, at North Hastings Hospital, Bancroft. He recently celebrated his 99th birthday surrounded by family.

Gordon was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Patricia (née North). A devoted father to Rod Bramer and his wife Darlene, and a loving father to a beautiful daughter who sadly passed away shortly after birth.

A proud Papa to Chad & Jaqueline, Kaitlin & Tom, Luke & Shanna, Paige & Tom, and Mallory, and an adoring Great-Papa to Lexi, Summer, Tenley, Aubrey, Remi, Shayla, Ethan, Grayson, Boaz, Finn, Reese, Amelia, Zander, and Reagan.

Gordon was a fun-loving Uncle Gord to all his nieces and nephews. He was one of 15 children, 10 of whom survived infancy. He was predeceased by his siblings William (Bill), Bernice, John, Douglas, Helen, Gladys, Florence, and Ray and is lovingly remembered by his sisters Evelyn and Ann.

He was proud to have served in the Canadian Armed Forces at the close of World War II. Blessed with good health well into his 90s, Gordon made the most of life—cruising around in his Corvette, golfing with friends, tending to his garden, and, most of all, cherishing time with his family.

A man of deep faith, Gordon was a longtime member of Bethany Gospel Chapel, Hamilton. He was a friend to many, a devoted family man, and someone who truly loved life.

Visitation will be held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gordon’s memory may be made to Joy Bible Camp, Bancroft, ON (K0L 1C0).

A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful team at North Hastings Hospital and Ontario Health at Home Services, Bancroft, for their compassionate care.

We are grateful for the love and support of our family, friends, and our brothers and sisters in Christ at Stoneridge Bible Chapel and Maynooth Bible Chapel.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." (Matthew 25:23)
