I'm so sorry to hear of Ray's passing, I met him when we went to Delta High School. I remember him saying I have to be careful, I want to be a Police Officer. Years later I met him at a computer store, introduced him to my wife, asked him where he was working, he said homicide, looked at my wife's shocked look and said it's ok he's a detective. Condolences to his family, rest in peace Ray.

One of the first emails I received as a recruit officer in January 2008 was from Radovan. It’s simply stated to come and “see him” when I was downtown lol. I had never met him in person prior to our first meet but I had heard of the veteran, high ranking Serbian police officer through our community. He was an absolute gentleman and gave me sound advice on how to properly navigate through a long policing career. I’ll cherish that conversation, and the subsequent conversations we had before his retirement. He was an absolute professional and a gentleman. My deepest condolences to his wife and daughters. I was happy to meet you all briefly at his visitation. He will never be forgotten by his Hamilton Police Family.
Zbogom,

The reason for his compassion and kind understanding can be attributed to spending more than half his life as a police officer protecting the people of Hamilton. My condolences to you Joyce and the family. Hard to believe I've Known Ray for 30 yrs. I met him as he started Metro Mobile. We exchanged many stories in the batcave. He'd say to me that he didn't understand why his dad Tom liked me so much. I told Ray it was because everytime I saw him I took the time to shake his hand and talk to him. Little things go along way. I'll miss you Ray, as I miss you dad Tom. God speed my friend.

Of course his stories are legendary as was his sense of humour, his optimism and his unwavering value placed on his family and friends as well as his dedication to service. Our paths crossed many many times in our varied career paths. The results were always the same. I came away smiling and I was sore from laughing. I am so blessed to have crossed paths with our beloved Ray, and I will cherish the memories of our coffees together, our breakies together, our texting each other into the late evenings, his remarkable and funny stories, his views on local, provincial and federal politics, his sense of humour and above all, his profound love and pride for his family.

Ray and I worked together on a few of projects over the years, but after we retired we shared countless pots of coffee and way, way too many donuts and muffins. At first, we spent every Friday mornings at Tim’s, and kept it up in his home after he could no longer manage the trip. He was always a kind, religious man, a good colleague, and devoted husband, whose whole life was his wife and the children of whom he was justly proud. I will miss my friend. He never once complained to me about his declining health even though it robbed him of much of the enjoyment that he should have had in his retirement.
