Obituary of Kathleen Violet Easton (nee Poyton)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother, Kathleen (Kay) Violet Easton (nee Poyton), who passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, at the age of 84 surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Aaron Easton and she was the proud Mom to Tracey (Marcus), Todd (Jan), Teresa, and Mike (Kelly). Her children were the joy of her life, and she supported and guided them with boundless love and wisdom. She also had 12 grandchildren - Lindsay, Ashley, Adam, Kevin, Todd Jr., Aaron, Jason, Marcus, Farren, Dalton, Trent and Braeden. She was also blessed with 13 great-grandchildren.
Kay was born on September 28, 1940, to Ernest and Frances Poyton (deceased) however she was raised by her Uncle Stanley and Aunt Blanche Poyton who became her Mom and Dad. She was the loving sister of Mary Hart, Alice Poyton, and was predeceased by her sisters Edith Hill and Frances Gauthier.
Her career spanned 35 years at Sears Canada, where she worked in the Parts Department and was respected and admired for her kindness, and the strong relationships she built with her colleagues. She retired at the age of 65, but the friendships she made and the impact she had on others continued long after her retirement.
Visitation will be held at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, Ontario, on Wednesday, February 5th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Service will take place on Thursday, February 6th at 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home. The family has chosen cremation, and a private family interment will take place at a later date at Mountview Gardens Cemetery, 735 Highway 8, Stoney Creek, Ontario.

Kay’s family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at St. Peter’s Hospital and the Hamilton General Hospital for their compassionate care and support during her final days. They would also like to thank Salwa Shabo for her loving care of Mom for the last 7 years.
Her love, warmth, and legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved her. You will always be in our hearts and will be truly missed.
