Robert John Roubos, age 81, of Stoney Creek, passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2025. Born December 13, 1943, to Mathys and Christine, Bob was a beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and valued business owner in Stoney Creek. He is survived by his children, Brent (Marta), Randy (Cathie), and Lori (Jim), along with their mother, Jean. Bob took great pride in his grandchildren, Kristen (Jordan), Blake (Fernanda), Ally (Ali), Bailey (Lorina), Paiten (Ry), Griffin (Rita), Alex (Josh), and MacKenzie (Hayden), Raf and Renato, and his great-granddaughter Maeve. He was also the dear brother of the late Bill, Burt, Pete, and Nellie.
Many in the community will recognize Bob from the family-owned Roubos Greenhouses on Lake Avenue, a cornerstone of Stoney Creek for nearly a century. Bob’s dedication to his craft was unparalleled. He poured his heart into every flower he grew, and his work was a reflection of his pride and passion. With Bob’s passing, the community has lost a true master of his trade. Outside of his work, Bob was known for his love of old cars, hockey, and animals. He had a vibrant personality, a zest for life, and a strong work ethic, which he instilled in his children and grandchildren, leaving a lasting legacy.
